I purchased a 1978 Chris-Craft
Commander in 2009, and it’s been a
labor of love ever since. In the main
saloon, the most prominent feature
is the tin ceilings (which are actually
24-inch-square stainless steel panels)
with mahogany trim. The wallpaper was
stripped off the main bulkhead and the
paneling look was achieved by outlining
everything with plywood and covering
up all the end grain with trim pieces.
I used solid-surface countertops on
the desk and vanity, and converted the
hanging locker into a laundry facility.
What you see in these photos barely
scratches the surface.
