Get In The Loop
Sign up for our regular e-newsletters and choose from
weekly, monthly, or quarterly updates that include everything
from special web discounts for the online shopper; our monthly
e-Newsletter, Tacklebox, with fishing tips, techniques, and destinations for anglers; longtime liveaboard authors Tom and Mel
Neale’s “East Coast Alerts” bulletin; the quarterly Foundation
update on boating safety and environmental issues; and our
BoatU.S. press releases that will keep you informed about breaking news important to boaters.
There’s An App For That!
The new BoatU.S. Towing app for iPhone and Droid automatically sends your GPS location to the BoatU.S. 24-hour
dispatch when you call for a tow. It also lets you text or e-mail
your location to friends and family — particularly useful if your
electronic systems have died. The application will plot the
locations of the nearest marina discounts, towboat ports, life
jacket loaner sites, and your all-important West Marine store.
Get Certified Online
Make learning even easier with the new BoatU.S. Foundation
Online Learning Center, a free, interactive, non-proctored course
and exam approved by the National Association of State
Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) and recognized by the
U.S. Coast Guard as exceeding the minimum requirements for
the National Recreational Boating Safety Program. You’ll be able
to print your BoatU.S. Foundation certificate upon successful
completion of the course or, if you choose, BoatU.S. Foundation
can print a paper copy and mail it to you for a fee of $5. Note:
This course is not approved in all states; click on your state on the
interactive online map to read more about your state’s boating education requirements and your course options. Also, see page 14 for our
article on this subject. www.BoatUS.org/onlinecourse
