MOST DECORATED: The historic 327-foot U.S. Coast Guard cutter Ingham, launched in 1936,
sailed into Key West, Florida last November to serve as a floating museum. She is believed
to be the most decorated vessel in the Coast Guard fleet. The cutter served in World War II,
protecting Atlantic convoys, in the Korean War and earned Presidential Unit Citations for
service during the Vietnam War. After decommissioning in 1988, USCGC Ingham became
part of a maritime museum in Charleston, South Carolina, and is now docked on Key West’s
Truman Waterfront beside the USS Mohawk, another former Coast Guard cutter turned into
a floating museum.
